Luxembourg Promotional Exam - April 2025

Please note that this event includes different Days & Times depending on if you are a child or adult.

The 4^th Week is Testing Week: Tip Test and Promotional Exams 

(Tip Test Dates will be usually on Mondays for Kids and Thursdays for Adults - can vary - please check your emails) 

1. PROMOTIONAL EXAM for Kids on FRIDAY, 25 April 2025 from 18h00 – 20h00 > Meeting Time: 17h30 at the regular Dojang in Belair Juniors will be tested also in their written exam, please study hard for this! Please bring your sparring gear or other equipment needed! Mouth guard and groin cup is Mandatory!!!!!
2. PROMOTIONAL EXAM for Teens and Adults on SUNDAY, 27 April 2025 at the Centre national sportif et culturel D’COQUE from 14h30 – 16h30. Meeting Time at the reception: 13h45

Written Test will be done immediately upon arrival at the Dojang.

*If it is a very large exam, the end time may be later to get in all matches for all candidates.  Please be flexible for large exams, thank you!
**Sparring Gear is needed for all TSD Orange Belts and up

Spectators (Family and Friends) are welcome to the Promotional Examination, so feel free to come cheer and celebrate then, but for the Tip Tests as they are during regular classes. No Photos are allowed to be taken during the exams and cannot be posted online!

Make sure to plan accordingly and show up early so you or your child are in uniform, equipment prepared, ready to begin performance at the start times listed below!

Q: Are attendances important?

A: YES, children and Adults must have good attendance to be eligible to test.  The belt promotions are important experiences that challenge the participants to perform at a high level and also recognizes the hard work they do improving over time through their regular training.  Confidence is built through the journey of overcoming obstacles!

*If for some reason you or your child missed classes or did not prepare enough prior to the exam, and do not meet expectations of the belt rank, your registration for this month's exam will be denied, and then you will be assigned to the next month's exam. 

Each belt exam is a milestone and the test experience is designed to bring forth the latent potential inside each of our students by facing our fears and striving for increased capacity through action!

Other IMPORTANT Notes:

If a student's WHRDA Membership has expired, it will need to be renewed prior to the test; this can be done under the “My WHRDA Memberships” tab. If you’d like more information about the belt test, please reference the “Belt Promotions” portion of the Survival Guide under “Resources” in your online account at www.hwarangdo.org. Students can also reference all of their belt curriculum in the “Tae Soo Do Cyberdojang” under ”Cyberdojang”. Please be sure that you or your child is putting in some extra practice at home to help maximize preparedness for the test. If you or your child have any questions or concerns regarding the curriculum or their readiness for the exam, please direct them to Instructor Cesca (Adults), Instructor Davey (Little Tigers) and Instructor Benoit (Juniors).

If this is your first test (white to orange belt), you will not need to participate in the sparring. We recommend students have sparring gear after 1 Month being enrolled at the school and no later than the second belt level (orange), so they can be preparing for the matches that are part of their next promotional belt exam (from orange to yellow and upwards).

Lastly, registration for the Promotional Exams is a 2-part process.  FIRST, an instructor will assign you or your child on the Recommendation List which is sent to you by email. Then once we get closer to the actual event, SECOND your registration will get "Approved" by The Leading Instructor, once you have met the general expectations.

At this stage, please register online, pay the belt test fees and if you haven’t turned in yet the Personal Conduct for your child, please do. We understand some school teachers need some time to fill it out.
